Best Betting Apps from New UK Bookmakers

Which new and recent UK bookmakers have an app on iOS, Android or both, what an app adds over the mobile site, and the settings worth changing before your first bet.

The app check

6 of 7 bookmakers on our racecard list an app for both iPhone and Android. Each phone shows the stores it appears in and the in-app features the operator states, recorded on 15 Oct 2026. A dash means we have no record, not that the feature is missing.

Download betting apps only from the App Store, Google Play or the bookmaker's own site.

If you want the short version: among the new and recent bookmakers on our racecard, Bet442 is the debutant that lists apps on both iOS and Android, and BetMGM, Parimatch, Bally Bet and Tote do the same in the established group. QuickBet lists an iOS app only. Betano has no app recorded in our operator records, but we found its UK listings on both the App Store and Google Play under BV Gaming Limited when we checked on 15 October 2026.

Most lists of the best betting apps in the UK rank the same handful of household names and quote app store star ratings. We do not do that. Store ratings move every week and say more about update bugs than about how a bookmaker treats you. We also do not test app design or speed. What we can tell you is which brands list an app, who holds the licence behind it, and what the welcome offer asks of you.

New betting apps on our racecard

The table uses the app platforms recorded for each operator in our operator records, checked on 15 October 2026. “Not recorded” means our data does not list an app for that platform. It does not prove the app is missing, so check the store.

The app check at the top of this page lines up every bookmaker on our racecard as a phone, with the stores it is listed in and the in-app features it states.

What makes a good betting app

A good betting app does the basics without fuss. It logs you in quickly and securely, shows your open bets and balance clearly, and puts the safer gambling tools where you can find them in two taps rather than six. It should also show the full terms of any offer inside the app, not just a headline.

Beyond that, the right app depends on what you bet on.

Football betting apps

For football, look for a Bet Builder that lets you combine markets from one match, a clear acca slip, and match trackers or statistics. Several football welcome offers on our racecard are built around these features. Bet442’s free bets are Bet Builder bets that need at least 4 legs at combined odds of 3/1 or more, and Betano splits its £30 across an acca, a Bet Builder and any football market. Our new football betting sites page goes through each structure.

Horse racing betting apps

For racing, the useful features are racecards with form, quick each-way selection, and results that update promptly. Live streaming, where offered, usually needs a funded account or a bet on the race. Tote is the brand on our racecard whose offer pays part of the reward as Tote Credit for racing, which suits app users who mainly bet on the horses.

App or mobile site?

You do not need an app to bet on your phone. Every licensed bookmaker on our list runs a mobile website with the same account, markets and safer gambling tools. The real differences are smaller than the advertising suggests.

An app can use your phone’s biometric login, such as Face ID or a fingerprint, and can send notifications. The mobile site works on any device without taking up storage and is always the latest version. If a brand only offers an app on the other platform, the mobile site is not a lesser product, just a different door into the same account.

Face ID and notifications

Biometric login is worth switching on, because it stops anyone who picks up your phone from opening your account. Notifications are a different matter. Bet settlement alerts are useful, but promotional pushes about boosts and offers are designed to bring you back. You can turn marketing notifications off in the app settings or in your phone’s settings without losing bet alerts.

Data use and permissions

Placing a bet uses very little data. Live streaming is the heavy part, so stream on Wi-Fi where you can. Apps may also ask for location access, because operators need to confirm you are in a market where they are licensed. Apple’s store pages show a privacy section in which the developer declares the data an app collects. Betano’s UK listing, for example, declares purchases, financial information, contact details and identifiers as linked to you. It is worth a minute to read before you install any betting app.

Safer gambling tools in betting apps

UK licensed bookmakers must give you tools to stay in control, and they apply across the app and the website alike. The ones to set up first are a deposit limit, reality checks that remind you how long you have been playing, and time-outs. If you want a longer break, self-exclusion with the operator, or with every licensed site at once through GamStop, is available in the account menu or at gamstop.co.uk.

Two phone settings help too. Screen time limits on iOS or digital wellbeing settings on Android can cap how long the app stays open each day. And if you decide to take a break, deleting the app removes the one-tap route back in. Our responsible gambling page lists the free support services.

How to download a betting app safely

Use the official App Store or Google Play listing, ideally from a link on the bookmaker’s own website. Check the seller name on the listing, then check the brand against the Gambling Commission register. Our list of new UK bookmakers shows the newest real-event betting licences with the domains each company declares. Avoid installing betting apps from files sent through messages or unofficial download pages.

The app is only the front end. The offer terms, the payout window and the company behind the licence matter far more, and you can compare all three on our list of new betting sites.

What is the best betting app in the UK?

There is no single answer, because the right app depends on what you bet on and which phone you use. Among the brands on our racecard, Bet442, BetMGM, Parimatch, Bally Bet and Tote list apps on both iOS and Android in our operator records. We do not rate app design, so we compare availability, offer terms and stated payout windows instead.

Do new betting sites have apps?

Many do, but not always on both platforms at launch. QuickBet, online since 2025, lists an iOS app in our data with no Android app recorded. If an app is missing on your platform, the mobile website usually offers the same account and markets.

Is a betting app safer than the mobile website?

Not in itself. The licence, the operator's checks and your account tools are the same either way. What an app can add is device security such as Face ID, which makes it harder for someone else to open your account on your phone.

How do I know a betting app is genuine?

Download it from the official App Store or Google Play listing, ideally through a link on the bookmaker's own website. Check that the brand appears on the Gambling Commission register and that the app shows the same licence details as the site footer.

Can I set deposit limits in a betting app?

Yes. UK licensed bookmakers must offer safer gambling tools such as deposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusion, and these apply to your account whether you use the app or the website. Look in the account or safer gambling section of the menu.

Do betting apps use a lot of mobile data?

Placing bets uses very little. Live streaming and live match trackers use far more, so if you stream racing or football away from Wi-Fi, check the streaming settings and your phone's data usage screen.

Are welcome offers different in the app?

Sometimes. Betano's UK App Store listing, checked on 15 October 2026, says its app welcome offers are for customers who deposit by card or Apple Pay only. Always read the offer terms shown in the app before you deposit.
