New Horse Racing Betting Sites in the UK Compared
Plenty of new bookmakers advertise racing, but their welcome offers often only work on football. Here is which deals on our racecard actually count for a bet on the horses.
Does the offer work on the horses?
Every sign up offer on our racecard, read from the racing side: does a racing bet qualify, and can the free bets go on a race. Terms as recorded on 15 Oct 2026.

The best new horse racing betting sites are not always the ones with the biggest banners. On our racecard, most welcome offers either require a football bet to qualify or pay out in football free bets. Tote is the exception that suits racing fans straight away: a £5 qualifying bet at 1/1 or longer, on sports or racing, returns £10 in Tote Credit for racing plus £10 in sports bets. BetMGM is the other option worth a look if you mainly bet on UK and Irish racing.
This page reads the terms of each sign up offer from the racing side. All details come from the operators’ terms in the records we last reviewed on 15 October 2026. We have not checked race-day features such as streaming or price concessions brand by brand, so where we mention them, we explain what to check rather than claiming who offers what.
Which offers count on the horses
The board at the top of this page sorts every offer on our racecard by that question, from the ones a racing bet unlocks to the ones that only take football.
“No sport restriction in short terms” means the summary terms do not limit the sport. The full terms may still do so, which is common, so read them before you rely on a racing qualifier.
New horse racing betting sites UK: the debutants
The two newest brands on our racecard, QuickBet and Bet442, are general bookmakers rather than racing specialists. Their offers are modest, matching your stake one for one. Bet442’s free bets are Bet Builder bets that need four legs at combined odds of 3/1, a format built around a single football match, so in practice they are hard to use on a race card. QuickBet’s single £10 free bet at 2.00 is more flexible, as long as the full terms allow racing.
If you want a brand that is genuinely new to the register, our new bookmakers UK register lists every first-time real-event betting licence. Recent names include Silkbet Limited (licensed 7 May 2026, silkbet.co.uk), Proper Bet Limited (22 May 2026, proper.bet) and Ballyhack Sports and Gaming (BSG) Limited (28 July 2026, rambobet.co.uk). None of them is on our racecard yet, and we will only add them once we have their terms on file. A name that sounds like racing tells you nothing about the product, so wait for the terms.
Horse racing betting sites: what to look for
If you are comparing horse racing betting sites in general, not only new ones, the welcome offer matters less than the terms you get on every race. The best horse racing betting sites for a regular punter are the ones whose day-to-day concessions match how you bet. Four features do most of the work, and each one is set by the bookmaker, can change, and is described in that site’s own terms. We have not recorded them brand by brand, so use the notes below as a checklist when you look at any site, old or new.
| Feature | What it does | Where to check |
|---|---|---|
| BOG | Pays the starting price if it is bigger than the price you took | Promotions page, racing terms, maximum stake or payout limit |
| Extra places | Pays each way place terms on more finishing positions than standard | The race market itself, usually announced on the day |
| Racing streaming | Live pictures of UK and Irish racing to account holders | Streaming terms, funded-account or bet-placed condition |
| Non-runner no bet | Returns your stake if an ante-post selection does not run | The market label, usually on big meetings only |
BOG: best odds at the starting price
With BOG, if you take 6/1 in the morning and the horse is returned at a starting price of 8/1, a winning bet is settled at 8/1. On a £10 win bet that is £90 returned instead of £70. If the starting price is shorter than the price you took, you keep your original price. Bookmakers usually apply BOG to UK and Irish racing, may set a maximum on the extra winnings, and can switch the concession off for individual accounts. Read the racing terms on the site before you count on it.
Extra places
On big handicaps, especially during festivals, some bookmakers pay more places than the standard each-way terms. If a 20-runner handicap normally pays four places at 1/4 odds and a bookmaker pays five, a £5 each-way bet at 20/1 that finishes fifth returns £5 x (20/4 + 1) = £30 from the place part, against a £10 stake. Without the extra place the same bet returns nothing. Extra places can come with a lower place fraction on the same race, so compare the terms, not just the number of places. Our guide to each way betting works through the place maths in full.
Racing streaming
Many bookmakers stream UK and Irish racing to customers. Some require a funded account, others a bet on the race of at least a set amount, and coverage of overseas racing differs widely. If watching the race on the same app matters to you, check the streaming page before you register.
Non-runner no bet
Ante-post bets, placed days or weeks ahead, normally lose if the horse does not run. Non-runner no bet (NRNB) returns your stake in that case. It is usually offered on selected big races in the build-up to major meetings, and the market says so when it applies. Prices under NRNB can be shorter than without it, which is the cost of the cover.
Payout speed
Racing produces a lot of small winning bets, so payout speed matters if you like to withdraw regularly. On our racecard, BetMGM states 1 to 3 days, while Tote states 72 to 120 hours, the longest window we list. Our payout times comparison puts every stated window side by side.
For the welcome offers and promotions tied to the biggest meetings, see our page on horse racing festival offers.
Getting started before a big meeting
The worst time to open a new account is twenty minutes before the off. Identity checks, which every UK licensed operator must complete, can take longer than you expect, and a Tote Credit with a 7 day expiry is wasted if you claim it the week after a festival rather than the week of it. Open the account a few days ahead, verify it, and set a deposit limit at the same time.
Festival weeks are also when it is easiest to bet more than you planned. If that has happened before, or you have registered with GAMSTOP, skip the new accounts altogether. Our responsible gambling page lists the tools every licensed bookmaker has to provide.
You can compare every racing-friendly offer with the rest of the field on our sign up offers page, or go back to the full list of new betting sites. For what it is worth, Tote’s offer is also the only one on our racecard where an each-way bet is spelled out as a valid qualifier, which says something about who it was written for.

Which new betting site is best for horse racing offers?
On our racecard, Tote is the clearest fit: a £5 qualifying bet on sports or racing returns £10 in Tote Credit for racing plus £10 in sports bets. BetMGM also accepts a UK or Irish horse racing bet as the qualifying bet, but its free bets lean towards football and multiples.
Can I use a football welcome offer on horse racing?
Not at Betano or Parimatch. Both require the qualifying bet on a football market, and Betano's free bets are all football bets. Always check the qualifying sports in the terms before you place your first bet.
Do each-way bets count as qualifying bets?
At Tote they do, but both parts must meet the minimum: £5 on the win and £5 on the place, at odds of 1/1 or longer. Other operators on our racecard do not mention each-way bets in their short terms, so check the full terms.
Do welcome offers include bets on foreign racing?
BetMGM's terms exclude non-UK and Irish horse racing, so a bet on a race in France or the USA will not qualify there. Other operators on our racecard do not mention foreign racing in their short terms.
What is Best Odds Guaranteed and do new bookmakers offer it?
Best Odds Guaranteed pays you at the starting price if it is bigger than the price you took. It is a racing concession that bookmakers can add, limit or remove, so check the promotions page of any new site before you rely on it.
How do I know a new horse racing bookmaker is licensed?
Look for the Gambling Commission licence number in the site footer and check it against the public register. Our licence tracker lists the newest real-event betting licences with the domains each company declares.
Are Tote Credit and free bets the same thing?
They work similarly but are not identical. Tote Credit is for racing bets with Tote and expires 7 days after it is credited. The £10 in sports bets from the same offer is separate and follows its own terms.
What does non-runner no bet mean?
It is a concession where your stake is returned if your horse does not run, even on an ante-post bet struck days or weeks before the race. Without it, an ante-post bet on a horse that is withdrawn normally loses. Bookmakers offer it on selected races, usually big meetings, and say so on the market.
How do extra places change an each way bet?
They add paid places to the place part. If a race normally pays four places and a bookmaker pays five, a £5 each way bet at 20/1 with 1/4 terms returns £30 from the place part when the horse finishes fifth, instead of nothing.
